Heaven's Hug

Heaven’s Hug…

 by Nathaniel L. Akers

There are times in our lives when we all go through,

Times when the enemy has completely surrounded you.

Looking at the situation you don’t know what to do.

Still believing miracles and dreams will come true?

Seeing them myself, I can say that they do

But while you are waiting heaven has a hug for you.

Life sometimes kicks us all around

You try to smile but it turns upside down

Trying to be positive while negative abounds

Trouble piles up seems like mounds and mounds

So many tears that you’re about to drown;

Keep flapping your wings you’ll get off the ground

For heaven’s arms are reaching down.

When I was a child a hug did me good

In spite of the bumps I felt I could;

I’d get off the ground and bring the wood,

Sometimes alone but there I stood

Even at times I didn’t know if I should

One thing about heaven I know that it would

Reach down and give me a Hug.
